FAQ: I would like to know if Softphone PBX is ready also in the Pocket PC version.

We have in fact ported the SoftwarePhone to the PocketPC platform. It is in an alpha stage right now.

Unfortunately, we still see some major drawbacks of this platform

  • battery power only lasts around 2 hours when WLAN is on
  • most of the devices we have seen so far produce inacceptable acoustical echo, so the can only be used with headset/earpiece
  • current Windows CE does not support bluetoth headsets
  • there is no support for compressing coders such as G723, so G711 must be used
