More Information

The IP1500 ,IP600 IP1200 do support a mechanism for exchanging messages with DECT portable parts under control of a PC application. This method is a subset of the mechanism previously supported by the Kirk System 1500.

Problem Details

DECT messaging is the basis for a number of useful applications, such as in the health care sector. It provides means to send messages to DECT handsets and to receive responses from users.

The former non-VoIP Kirk system 1500 supports a messaging interface based on the serial port of the system 1500. Although the innovaphone IP 1500 also features a serial port, the messaging interface does not work with the IP 1500. Instead, there is a DLL based interface that provides a subset of the former serial interface.

The attached documents (Developer Package) describe the messaging interface ,the subset supported by the DLL interface and the DLL itself (DLL specification.doc)

Known Problems

Please note that this interface is intended for upward compatibility only. It will be replaced by a standard, SOAP mechanism later on.
