More Information

Latest innovaphone builds contain an initial messaging implementation. The basic idea is the ability to send and receive messages using innovaphone telephones. Interoperability with other 3rd party messaging systems and GSM - SMS service is in the first step not an issue. This may be addressed afterwards.

System Requirements

At least 2 innovaphone Telephones H.323/SIP registered at innovaphone PBX.

Usage

Sending messages through Messages Menu

  1. In Main Menu, go to "Messages" submenu
  2. Choose "New Message"
  3. Type in the destination number (alias) in the top-most entry field
  4. Type message
  5. Send by pressing Menu/Send key
  6. Popup screen informs if the message has been sent sucessfully

Sending messages through prepared Dial

  1. Type destination number or H.323/SIP alias
  2. Press Menu key - "Send Message"
  3. Type message
  4. The destination number (alias) can be edited in the top-most entry field
  5. Send by pressing Menu/Send key
  6. Popup screen informs if the message has been sent sucessfully

Receiving messages

  1. In idle mode, the incoming message is being displayed on a screen. Special message ring tone is played. Pressing any key stops the ring. The message sending party can be called back by pressing the hook key.
  2. With at least one connected call, the incoming message number/alias is displayed in the status line. Special intrusion tone is played. The missed message counter is incremented.
  3. In dialing and ringing states, the message is received silently. The missed message counter is incremented.

Managing incoming messages

  1. In Main Menu, go to "Messages" submenu
  2. Choose "Messages (incoming)" subemnu
    1. The missed messages counter is resetted upon enetering this menu
  3. Scroll up and down in the chronologically sorted list, activate messages to see the text
    1. The message sending party can be called back by pressing the hook key.
  4. Invoke Action key, from here:
    1. The sending party number can be used as a prepared dial string ("Indirect dialling")
    2. An answer to the sending party can be sent ("Reply Message")
    3. Delete this message
    4. Delete all messages

Managing outgoing messages

  1. In Main Menu, go to "Messages" submenu
  2. Choose "Messages (outgoing)" subemnu
    1. The missed messages counter is resetted upon enetering this menu
  3. Scroll up and down in the chronologically sorted list, activate messages to see the text
    1. The message sending party can be called back by pressing the hook key.
  4. Invoke Action key, from here:
    1. The sending party number can be used as a prepared dial string ("Indirect dialling")
    2. The message can be resent (not immediately, but being used as a template in the first step) ("Send Message")
    3. Delete this message
    4. Delete all messages

Managing the message ring tone

  1. Navigate thorough main menu to User List -> User -> Ring Melody -> Ring Melody (ring)
  2. Configure the ring tone and save changes by pressing the Menu button

Leaving a message for busy subscriber

If the subscriber You have called is busy, press the menu key which besides "Recall" and "Redial" also offers a shortcut "Send Message" and automatically copies the dialed numer to message destination field.

Sending an Out-of-Office Message to calling subscriber

  1. Navigate through main menu to User Setup -> Do not Disturb
  2. As Action, choose Out of Office, a button Out of Office Msg. will appear at the screen bottom
  3. Activate button Out of Office Msg., enter the message e.g. "lunch time" or "holiday till x.y", save with menu key
  4. Actiavte DnD mode by settings the uppermost choice to On
  5. From now on, every caller will be sent an Out-of-Office-Message upon calling the subscriber
