Problem Details

The number of subscriptions possible in an IP1200 depends on if it is a multi-cell or single-cell installation.

For single-cell installations, the maximum number is set to 50. That is, 50 different handsets can be subscribed to the IP1200 and possibly used with the system. Of course, not all of those can be actually used simultaneously, as there are only 10 channels on the IP1200, so there cannot be simultaneous calls on all handsets.

For multi-cell installations the DECT standard limits the number of base stations to 255 and the number of handsets to 4096. However, the IP1200’s subscription database implementation actually limits the number of handsets to 1500.

Known Problems

Many handsets moving around could possibly create “hot-spot” issues in a cell. This happens if many handsets are moved into a single cell and cause mutual interferences. In practice however this does more or less never happen, as handsets are overall equally spread over the various cells.
