The easiest way to configure Exchange 2007 is using the ''Management Console''. If you are not using the SP1 version of Exchange 2007, you might need to make some adjustments via the ''Managment Shell''

The steps to configure the Exchange 2007 server are:

Open the ''Management Console'' and click once on ''Server Configuration''->''Unified Messaging''.Open the ''Properties'' tab of your Exchange Server. Open the ''UM Settings'' tab and add your dial plan to the list.

The fax detection on the Exchange Server is disabled by default and can only be activated in the global configuration file of the Exchange Server. The file is named ''globcfg.xml'' and is located in the following directory: ''\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange\bin''.

To enable the fax detection change the ''EnableInbandFaxDetection'' setting to True.

===Installation & Configuration of the innovaphone components===

To connect ot the Exchange Server you will need a ''Gateway without Registration''. This is because the Exchange server does not accept registrations and will simply send its ''INVITE'' messages to the configured ip address(on port 5060).

It is important to configure as signalling protocol TSIP(SIP over TCP), since Exchange 2007 will not handle SIP messages sent via UDP.

The IP800 is used as gateway between the ISDN provider and the OCS installation. All PBX functionality is done by the OCS. The interface to the OCS enviroment is done by the ''Mediation Server''.

===Installation & Configuration of the vendor Software===
The OCS server can be installed like described by microsoft. You will need to do some adjustments on the mediation server on the mediation server.

To do this adjustments, open the ''Office Communications Server'' management interface and open the ''Mediation Server'' menue.

In the proprieties menue of your mediation server, open the ''Next Hop Connections'' tab. Enter in the ''PSTN Gateway next hop'' field the ip address and port number of your innovaphone gateway.

===Installation & Configuration of the innovaphone components===

The connection to the ''Mediation Server'' is done using a ''Gateway without Registration''. In the screenshot below, you will find the correct configuration.

Since the IP800 will work only as media gateway in this scenario, the routing will be pretty simple. The used ''Gateway without Registration'' interface will be connected directly to the ISDN interface. Keep in mind to activate the proper flags on the two routes(see screenshot below)

== Ethernet MDX ==
IP400, IP21 and IP3000 the ethernet interface has a switch to configure the port to be connected to a hub/switch or terminal.

On gateways with 2 ethernet interfaces ETH0 can be connected directly to a switch port, ETH1 can be connected directly to terminal. Other connections are possible if auto-MDX is supported in the switch or in the gateway or if a crossover cable is used.

Ipphones have a ethernet switch, form the firmware this is seen as a single ethernet interface. Again, the first interface can be connected directly to a switch, the second directly to a terminal ( e.g. a PC ).

IP800 (hardwarebuild below 108) and IP6000 (hardwarebuild below 200) and IP21 support Auto-MDX.
Ipphones generaly do not support Auto-MDX, only the ipphones with gigabit ethernet support Auto-MDX.
