==Summary==
The user type executive is used for executive/secretary functions. The phone of the executive is registered to this user. Two groups can be configured for this user: Secretary Primary and Secretary Secondary. The Secretary Primary group defines the secretaries which are assigned to this executive. The Secretary Secondary group defines the secretaries which may act in place of the secretaries which are assigned to the executive.

A third group may be configured, which defines all users which can call the executive directly, without the secretaries getting the call as well.

All calls to the executive are sent to the secretary groups. If there are users in the primary group, the call is sent to primary, if not to users in the secondary group.

All calls to the secretary groups are sent as diverted calls, with the executive as diverting user.

Any call to the executive (if the flag call executive is enabled), as long as the call was sent to a secretary as well is also signalled as diverted call. This way the ringing of the executive phone can be configured to ring differently if the call rings at a secretary or not.

==Applies To==
This information applies to

* innovaphone PBX
* all innovaphone phones

==More Information==
===Basic Functionality===

{|border="2" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="4" width="91%"
|'''Function'''
|'''ToDo'''
|-
|Add a user executive
|Add a new user. Select object ''executive''. Fill in name, nickname, number and pbx. The drop-down lists for the secretary groups are empty.
|-
|
|Register a phone to this object. Check if calls to/from this phone are possible. Calls to the executive are sent as normal (not diverted) calls.
|-
|
|Add groups to the executive object with the name primary, secondary and direct-call. Mark these groups as active.
|-
|
|Open the executive object again. Now the drop-down lists for groups are not empty. Select for primary secretaries the group primary …
|-
|Add users for the secretaries
|Add two user objects, primary-secretary and secondary-secretary. Add group (''dynamic-in)'' primary to primary-secretary, secondary (''dynamic-in'')to secondary-secretary.
|-
|
|Register a phone to primary-secretary. Additionally you would use a function key (Join group) on the phone of the secretary to join or un-join to the primary group.
|-
|Call executive with primary-secretary
|Call executive. Only the secretary phone rings. The calls are sent as diverted calls, so the secretary sees that the call was originally for the executive.
|-
|
|Register a phone to secondary secretary. Call executive. Still primary-secretary is called.
|-
|Call executive with secondary secretary
|Un-join the users from the primary group. Call executive. The call is sent to the secondary as diverted call.
|-
|Executive calls secretary
|From the executive phone call the number of executive. The call is sent to primary-secretary (or secondary-secretary) as non-diverted call.
|-
|Direct-call
|Add group direct-call to a phone, do not mark it as active (in typical installations all the secretaries are member of this group). Call the executive from this phone. The call is sent as non-diverted call to the executive, no secretary phone rings.
|-
|
|Without any Primary and Secondary phone in the groups: Only Executive Phone rings, it<nowiki>’</nowiki>s as non-diverted call.
|-
|Call executive (with the call executive flag enabled) with primary or secretary
|Call executive. The call is sent to executive and secondary as diverted call.
|-
|Executive reject call
|Call executive (with the call executive flag enabled). Executive rejects call by pressing disconnect. Secretary phones keep on ringing.
|}

===Call-Diversions at Executive===

The executive may divert his calls using CFU, CFB or CFNR

* A CFU diverts the calls unconditional. No secretary phone is called

* A CFNR diverts the call to executive if neither the secretary or the executive answers the call. After the diversion is executed, the secretary phone continues to ring

* A CFB is only executed when both executive and secretary are busy.

{|border="2" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="4" width="91%"
|'''Function'''
|'''ToDo'''
|-
|CFU
|Configure a CFU at the executive phone
|-
|
|Call executive. The diversion is executed
|-
|CFB
|Configure a CFB at the executive phone
|-
|
|If only executive or secretary are busy, the diversion is not executed
|-
|
|If both executive and all secretaries are busy, the diversion is executed, depending on the ''busy on... calls'' setting at the executive and secretary object.
|-
|CFNR
|Configure a CFNR at the executive phone
|-
|
|Call executive. If the call is not answered the diversion is executed.
|-
|
|If the call is answered by the executive or the secretary, the diversion is not executed.
|}

===Diversions at Secretary===

The call to the secretary may be diverted using CFU , CFNR or CFB

{|border="2" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="4" width="91%"
|'''Function'''
|'''ToDo'''
|-
|CFU
|Configure a CFU at primary-secretary
|-
|
|Call executive. The diversion is executed, but the executive phone rings as well (only when the ''Call executive'' flag is set).
|-
|CFNR
|Configure a CFNR at primary-secretary
|-
|
|Call executive. If the call is not answered the diversion is executed. The executive phone keeps on ringing (only when the ''Call executive'' flag is set).
|-
|
|If the call is answered by the executive or the secretary, the diversion is not executed.
|-
|CFB
|Configure a CFB at primary-secretary
|-
|
|Call executive. The secretary is busy .The diversion is executed (and the executive phone keeps on ringing too, when the ''call executive'' flag is set).
|}

===Call Completion===

It is not possible to set a call completion to an executive , except when the caller is part of the ''direct call'' group.

== New in V9 ==

There are some enhanced features with V9.

* Secretary can initiate calls with the CLIP (extension) from the executive. Off hook, press the executive partner key and dial the number.
Use the partner type ''Executive'' at the [[Reference9:Phone/User/Function-Keys/Partner]] function key.

* Executive can see if the secretary is joined or unjoined in the primary secretary group. Also the executive sees if a call diversion (CFX) is set at the secretary.
Use the partner type ''Secretary'' at the [[Reference9:Phone/User/Function-Keys/Partner]] function key.

* If a secretary has call waiting disabled and the secretary is in a call, anyone can still call the executive and the call is offered to the secretary.
Enable ''Use Call Offer'' at the [[Reference9:PBX/Objects/Executive]] object.

Config templates can be used to set certain parameters for many users in an uniform fashion. Templates can be defined and then assigned to users in the from the '''Config Template''' list. All parameters that are not set (that is, are empty) in the user configuration will be inherited from the template.

Config templates can be nested by assigning a previously defined config template to another config template.

== Configuration Options available for Templates ==

The following configuration options can be configured thru templates:

;Filter: The filter configured here restricts the numbers which may be called by a endpoint registered to this object

;Diversion FDilter: The filter configured here restricts the numbers which calls may be diverted to by a endpoint registered to this object

;Response Timeout: Overides the PBX global response timeout for this object

;Busy on ... Calls: If this value is set a call to this user object is rejected with User Busy if n or more calls are active on this user object. If the object is of the gateway type (Gateway, Trunk, ...) calls from endpoints registered to this object are rejected as well in this case.

;External UC: A '''Long Name''' of a External UC object can be configured here. Presence Information for this user is then obtained from a UC Server which is registered to this Object. Instant messaging Sessions for this user are also forwarded to the External UC interface.

;No Inband Disconnect: If this checkmark is set, a call disconect with inband information will not be forwarded to the endpoint registered to the user, but the call will be cleared immediatelly without the inband information beeing sent.

;Discard Phone Config: If this checkmark is set in addition to ''Store Phone Config'' the local config stored at the phone is discarded but not returned to the PBX when the phone registers the first time, i.e. the phone is configured with the config predefined at the PBX.

;Store Phone Config: If this checkmark is set, the PBX stores the config of the phone. The first time a phone registers the predefined config at the PBX is sent to the phone even if it is empty. Then the local config stored at the phone is merged into the received config and the result is returned to the PBX. After this the local config is deleted and no local config is stored on the phone anymore. Later config changes on the phone will be sent to the PBX and stored there. On registration the PBX sends the complete config to the phone again.

;Twin Phones: With this checkmark the twin phone mode is enabled for this object. Checkmark on means that any additional calls a user may receive while in an existing call will signal on any other phone on which the user has an active registration. Checkmark off means if one phone is busy any additional calls are sent to the busy phone only (as call waiting) and not to the other phones on which the user may have active registrations. If "Call Waiting" is disabled on the busy phone a second call gets a busy tone and a missed call is displayed when the active call is terminated.

;Reporting: Enables Reporting for this user. A reporting license is needed to activate this. To show up the call-list at the myPBX client, you also need to activate the ''reporting'' flag.

;Reject ext. Calls: If this checkmark is set a call from an external source to this object is rejected. A calling party numbering plan private is used to decide that the call is coming from an internal source. An invalid number destination is excuted for calls rejected because of this.
