This Howto describes the configuration of the volume parameters for user of an IP110, IP200A and IP230.

Problem Details

In some cases the default parameters are not perfectly matching the customer requirements. For those issues you have to rearrange the volume parameters.

At the phone, there are two amplifiers, one analogue and one digital, seperatly adjustable.

Tip! Try to keep down the analogue amplification.


Configuration

First try the default configuration.

Otherwise change the parameters as described below.

As a good parameter set we prefer the following:

config change INCA_DSP /afe-gain ,,,,176,176

config change /PHONECFG0 /headset 8

Analogue Amplification

The analogue amplification of the speaker output can be changed by pressing the left/right arrow keys in calling mode. This configuration will be kept in nonvolatile memory at the call end and automaticly loaded in the next call. This parameters are stored in PHONECFG0.

The default settings of analogue amplification for handset, headset and handsfree microphone are:

handset – 5 ; headset – 6 ; handsfree – 5

Those values can be changed with:

config change PHONECFG0 /handset 0..8 /headset 0..8 /handsfree 0..8

config activate

To increase the Mic volume of the headset use:

config change PHONECFG0 /headset 8

config activate

Digital Amplification

The IP110, IP200A and IP230 are providing many more options on the DSP as an IP200. To configure these options below add them in this configuration line:

The first value of a value pair defines the Analog to Digital gain, i.e. the microphone gain, the second the Digital to Analog gain, i.e. the speaker gain.

The values can vary in the range from 0 to 200 but usually values between 160 and 190 will give the expected results.
