Problem Details
MetaDirectory used to have a flat rate licensing before version 3.5. When upgrading to 4.0, please note that the licensing scheme has been changed to a per user model.
The Metadirectory server is licensed per user who accesses the directory services. Each user needs a license regardless of the type of access (direct e.g. via LDAP client or Web GUI or indirect e.g. via the PBX doing the access on his behalf). Also, it does not matter if or if not the access is authenticated or not. A single user may utilize up to 4 different end-devices (e.g. hard phone, mobile phone, CTI client, ...) to access the directory services.
In an innovaphone PBX context this implies, that you need a user license per real user that has access to the directory service, regardless if this is through the phone, the mobile phone, myPBX, a Directory Search object or any other means that provides this access, directly or indirectly.
Some of the possible access methods may not protect themselves against unlicensed access. Nevertheless, providing access to more real users than licensed is a violation of the licensing agreement.
