Applies To

This information applies to

  • innovaphone phones
  • innovaphone V6 PBX
  • 3rd party SIP/H.323 IP phone (such as e.g. Siemens Openstage 20/40/60/80)

More Information

This document describes the configuration of a Chef/Secretary scenario, when a combination of third party (chef) and innovaphone phones (secretary) is used.

In this combination, many but not all of the required features will work. Please note that we do not recommend to use 3rd party phones for the secretary, as this will severely limit the functionality.

System Requirements

The third party phone must support SIP or H323 as signalling protocol.

Installation

Both phones register at the PBX. The third party phone is registered as an 'executive' object in the pbx.

For more information on the correct configuration of this scenario, please refer to: Configuration of Chef/Sek Functions.

Working Features

  • all calls to the 'executive' user are diverted to the secretary. (exceptions can be configured, to directly call the 'executive' user)
  • configuration of diferent secretary groups(primary/secondary)
  • secretary can dynamically subscribe or unsubscribe to the secretary group
  • if no secretary is active, the call may be passed directly to the 'executive' user
  • secretary and other special users can make direct calls to the 'executive' user
  • 'executive' user can make direct speaker announcements to secretary

Not Working Features

This features will work only if the 'executive' user is also registered at an innovaphone phone.

  • current state of the secretary phone is not shown to the 'executive' user.
