Concept
The innovaphone Cloud Instance is an innovaphone App Platform running inside a container, orchestrated by a Kubernetes cluster hosted under the *.innovaphone.cloud
domain.
The instance of an App IP installed on the App Platform instance delivers the PBX and myApps functionality.
The initial configuration of the Cloud Instance is done via the Install
Instance Life-cycle
The innovaphone Cloud Instances can be created on the the my.innovaphone Partner Portal.
After a successful login to the my.innovaphone Partner portal navigate to the tab "Cloud instances" to access the instance management view.
The Cloud Instances are shared between the accounts of the same company.
Create
- Unique name - the name of the instance. Could be a customer ID or customer name.
- External domain - the third-level domain name in the
*.innovaphone.cloud
domain
The creation of the instance may take few minutes. After the instance is created the
Delete
Make sure to create backups of the app instances in case any relevant data is stored there.
Install
The individual Install URL for each Cloud Instance is available on the instance entry and can be used to configure the App Platform and the PBX to a state with a fully functional myApps installation.
Install type
The only supported type of the installation for the innovaphone Cloud Instance is Master PBX to start a new system with local App Platform
. The resulting installation contains an innovaphone App Platform and a PBX running as an App IP instance on it.
Update URL
The Update Server URL points to the App Store that will be used during the installation process. The default value should not be changed, unless you know exactly which version should be used instead.
innovaphone PBX options
- First user account with administrator rights - will be used for instance administration.
- Identification of the PBX - this should match the domain name of the Cloud Instance used in the Instance creation phase.
- PBX location name - the name of the PBX.
- Voicemail App - the version of the Voice Mail App (optional).
- Dialing prefixes - the dialing location information for the SIP trunk (optional).
Emergency administration password
It is recommended to save the emergency administration password for the case the user account with the administration rights is not functional.
Email account
The optional email account can be configured for the email delivery from the instance.
Device certificates
- Trust unverified IPVA certificates - this option will allow to connect additional IPVAs to this instance.
Installation progress
The set up progress screen lists the Apps that are being installed and redirects to the myApps login screen, when the installation is finished.
Administration
For the administration of the Cloud Instance following Apps are available:
- AP Manager - the App installation and the App Platform management.
- PBX Manager - the App instance setting in the PBX.
- Devices App - the advanced web UI of the PBX/App IP which is available via the PBX-UI button.
Available Resources
Each Cloud Instance is limited by the following constraints in therms of CPU, memory and storage:
- CPU: 0.25 CPU
- Memory: 384MiB
- Storage: 20 GB
Current Limitations
For the time of the public preview of the Cloud Instance the provided functionality is limited by the current state of the development.
PBX functionality
Following functions are not available or limited:
- PBX and telephony (H.323/SIP/Softphone) - the PBX functionality provided by the App IP is limited to the functions required for the myApps client.
- LDAP connectivity - connecting to the PBX/Contacts App via LDAP is not supported.
- Firmware/App Updates via Devices - no automatic app updates are available.
- myApps Launcher - the myApps launcher can not handle the URL used by the cloud instance - only usage from a web browser is supported.
- Licenses - no licenses are available, please use Test-Mode.
Custom DNS Domains
The Cloud Instances are solely available under the *.innovaphone.cloud
domain.
Distributed PBX Scenarios
Each Cloud Instance represents one Master PBX. No Master PBX/Slave PBX scenarios are supported.
