Windows OS
Windows Studio Effects allows you to apply special effects to the device camera, one of which is Background Blur. By March 2023, only built-in (notebook) cameras from certain manufacturers will be supported; external USB cameras will not be able to use this feature. Also check your notebook manufacturer's website for a driver update related to the Windows Studio Effects (MEP) driver.
As this is a solution that works independently of the myApps client, it can also be used for a Softphone App or videoconference that runs in a browser instead of the myApps Windows client.
Configuration
Please refer to the Microsoft Windows Studio Effects documentation.
MacOS/iOS
To enable backbround blurring, start a video call (e.g. use the video test function of the myApps softphoneApp) and open the iOS/MacOS Control Center (for iOS, by swiping down from the top right-hand edge of the screen). Select Portrait as the video effect and move the depth slider to the maximum value. For more help, please refer to Apple support documentation.
