Introduction

Some customer wants to connect a supplementary external ringer on an IP-Phone set. This could be a classic “ringer”, but often also a siren (for example for external areas) or a flashing light (for example for noisy environments or for a just optical advisement without ringing). No innovaphone IP-Phone has a connector for an external ringer and there is no clear contact to connect a external device. Anyway it is possible to realize thus type of application, here is how.

More Information

An external ringer could be connected to a port of an analogue interface (IP21/22/24/28). Please not that the power and current of the AC during a call is limited. Therefore for powerful ringer you will need a clear contact a external power source. A clear contact can be easy done connecting an AC relay to the analogue port. This relay will attract during the ring period and release during the pause. The contact of the relay of course are clear, just check the limit of the technical specification of the relay. And so it is also obviously that any type of device can be switched on and off each time ringing voltage comes to the relay.

System Requirements

You will need one analogue port, a external ringer or device, and a AC relay in case of “non-ringing” devices. Of course this setup requires also one registration license in the PBX, the a/b license and a DSP-license. The DSP-license is necessary because a call to a device without resources can be terminated in advance.
