The telephone is able to connect IP terminals from the network with a non-public address to the public Internet. For this, NAT (Network Address Translation) is necessary. NAT serves as the router and requires a configuration of the PPPoE protocol. The necessary parameters for this configuration can be set here:

  • Enable NAT: A checked check box enables NAT in general. This function is only required if the IP telephone is also a DSL router.
  • Default forward destination: If all incoming data packets are to be forwarded to a particular IP-Adresse as standard, the destination IP-Adresse must be entered here.
  • Port-specific forwarding: To be able to address several internal destinations, different port number numbers are assigned to IP addresses of the internal network here.
