Howto14r1:Set up the calculator app

This article explains all necessary steps to set up the Calculator app without using the Install.

Applies To

This information applies to any PBX/AP system since 13r3 Service Release 11.

Problem Details

The Calculator app will be installed by the 14r1 Install, but if you want to add the app to your already existing installation, here are the steps to so.

14r1 steps

1. Open the PBX manager and then open the app installer plugin.
2. Search for the Calculator app, either in the All apps section or in the search box on the top right.
3. Select the newest 14r1 version in the drop down box and click on Install
4. Accept the Terms of use and click on Install
5. Close the PBX manager and then open it again
6. Open the calculator plugin and click on + Add an app
7. Select the Calculator app and add an app object.
   • Configure the name: Calculator
   • Configure the SIP id: calculator
   • Select a Template to distribute the app: e.g Config User
8. Click on OK

Afterwards you can find the Calculator app in the All Apps area of the myApps client.

13r3 steps

As you will see at the end of this paragraph, setting up an app is a little bit more complex in 13r3. So for ease of use, you may want to consider upgrading to 14r1.

1. Open the AP Manager app and click on the App Store icon (top row)
2. Search for the Calculator app
3. Select the newest 13r3 version and click on Install
4. Accept the Terms of use and click on Install
5. Go back to the AP Manager and click on the Calculator app service(Installed apps)
6. We need to create a app instance first, therefore we need to click the Add button.(top row)
   • Name: calculator
   • Domain: <Your domain/system name>
   • Password: <Choose any secure password>
   • Database password: <Choose any secure password>
   • All other settings are created automatically be your name and domain. Leave them as they are.
7. Click on Save
8. Click on the instance you just created
9. Click on the Start button (top row)
10. Re-open the PBX Manager and click on the calculator plugin.(if you can't find the calculator plugin, close an open the PBX Manager again)
11. Open the calculator plugin and click on + Add an app
12. Select the Calculator app and add an app object.
    • Configure the name: Calculator
    • Configure the SIP id: calculator
    • Select a Template to distribute the app: e.g Config User
13. Click on OK
