Configuration

The manual configuration settings are effective if the settings are not received within a DHCP lease. To the right of the entry fields, the settings currently used are displayed.

IP Address: The IP address used by the network adapter.
Network Mask: The IP subnet mask used by the network adapter.
Default Gateway: The standard router used by the device.
DNS Server: The DNS server used by the device.
Proxy ARP: The device will answer incoming ARP requests for all non-local IP addresses the device has an IP route to. It will then behave as a router for such addresses even for devices that have no proper routing configuration for this non-local network. If the device has a dial-in PPP interface, ticking this checkmark will allow the remote client to access the entire network.
Check ARP: Helps to avoid ARP spoofing attacks but may cause interop problems.
Broadcast IP Multicasts: By default, IP multicasts are sent using appropriate Ethernet multicasts. When this option is ticked, they are sent as Ethernet broadcasts instead.
Disable: Disables the interface. Prevents any traffic through the interface and removes the IP0/ETHx Interface down alarm that will show up for enabled interfaces with no link on it.

Static IP Routes

In the Static IP Routes section, additional network routes can be defined, if other network areas apart from the local network are required.

Network Destination: The network address of the destination route.
Network Mask: The relevant subnet mask of the destination route.
Gateway: The standard gateway of the network being routed.
