Problem

In some installations, an LDAP server must be set up that provides LDAP object classes which are not natively supported by Metadirectory. This is generally not required when using Metadirectory from an innovaphone LDAP phone client (i.e. a global directory).

With older standard versions, Metadirectory had the problem of being unable to add custom LDAP ObjectClasses and to perform an effective Attribute Name Mapping. Only the ObjectClass ContactPerson was presented outside the Metadirectory and the internal attribute mapping (Database Fields) turned out to be useless when browsing the LDAP database with an external browser as the mappings weren't displayed as expected.

Solution

Newer versions of Metadirectory support such requirements by virtue of an external configuration file. Please find further details in this estos document. For further information please refer directly to Estos support.
