The software PCS 6Rc can only be loaded into IP52/54 handsets already equipped with PCS 6Ea. If the handset has an older firmware (e.g. v5) than it must be temporarily updated to the PCS 6Ea firmware. A direct upload of the new PCS 6Rc build on v5 firmware will destroy the handset.

To speed up the support process, you should send the current firmware version within your support request.
Procedure for upgrade from V5 into 6Rc
# upload version 6EA
# Send a default to handset
# Upload version 6Rc
#  Send default to handset

Please use the *99984* service code to determine the firmware number.
BUT - after upgrade from version 5 into 6(x) you might experience acoustical problems as in between the version 5 - to 6 Kirk has implemented a new type of loudspeaker which will give you a higher sound preassure. Should the acustical conditions be adjusted the handset must be run through a final test for adjustment of the acoustical parameters.
