Problem Details
Users running a voicemail on the innovaphone PBX often want to redirect unhandled calls on their mobile phone to the innovaphone mailbox instead of the mobile operators mailbox. However, setting a call forward on the mobile phone to the users voicemail number is one possibility, when you have set the interworking flag on your incoming route (Gateway -> Routes). If you did not set the interworking flag, the caller will be connected to the mailbox in control mode instead of message recording mode.
If you have instead of a ISDN trunk a SIP Trunk it can be that the SIP provider did not send the information that the call is diverted. In this case the caller will be connected to the mailbox in control mode instead of message recording mode.
Resolution
If you have the situation that your SIP Provider did not send the information over the diverted call, the fool proof method of implementing this is to create a new user object which diverts all incoming calls to the original users mailbox. You would then configure the call forward on your mobile phone towards the number of this new user object.
Configuration
If you have a ISDN trunk or a SIP trunk with diverting information and interworking flag you can easy configure the direct Voice Mail Box number into your mobile phone.
Assumed the user has subscriber number 0321/678 and his extension is 42 and the innovaphone voicemail is configured with number 55. The users mailbox number then is 5542. To implement the redirection of unhandled mobile calls you would
- determine an unused prefix for this function, say
56
- create a user object with Number
5642
(the new prefix 56 followed by the user's extension 42) - set the Send Number on the new user object to
42
(the original user's extension) - set a CFU (call forward unconditional) on the new user object to
5542
(the user's mailbox number) - set a call forward to
03216785642
(the PBX's subscriber number followed by the new user objects Number)
Licensing
There is no additional license required.
Known Problems
This approach has the slight drawback that you need to create a second user object for each user using this feature.
There is an alternative solution available as follows:
- configure an administrative CFU for the original user towards
5542
- restrict this CFU to "only from users-mobile-number"
- set a call forward to
032167842
(the PBX's subscriber number followed by the user's Number)
However, this works only if the mobile carrier (and all intermediate carriers) provide the diversion information along with the forwarded mobile call. In other words, the incoming call must carry both the number of the original caller (as calling party number) and the number of the users mobile phone (as diversion or leg-2 info). This tends to be unreliable.
