Overview

What they are good for

A major design principle for innovaphone products is being based on standards strictly.

While this brings a number of substantial advantages to the customers, amongst others a huge base of 3rd applications that can work with innovaphone gear, it may sometimes create headaches for the innovaphone professional in charge of designing solutions. H450, TAPI, Empty Termcaps, DSS1, H.245, XML, SS7, .... it's easy to get lost in the standards jungle!

So if you intend to use a 3rd party application or device and have no time to undertake the "...in principle this should work" adventure, innovaphone recommended products are what you are looking for.

Products bearing the innovaphone recommended product logo are compatible with innovaphone solutions and thus serve as perfect building blocks for your own scenario.

What it means

So what exactly can you expect from a 'recommended product?

A certified product has passed tested in the innovaphone labs OK.

This means that all relevant interface used to interact with the innovaphone devices do work as expected. It explicitly does not mean that the passing product is the greatest product in the world. Instead, it says that the product interfaces ok with innovaphone. There may or may not be a better product, or a product more suitable for specific requirements available. This decision is deliberately left to the market.

What is a potential candidate for a recommended product?

Any product that actually interfaces to innovaphone gear may be considered as recommended product. However, as a rule of thumb, we do not recommend nor test basic network infrastructure devices.

What if innovaphone actually cannot recommend a product?

When for whatever reason we test a product but decide to not "recommend" it, then still the product's test report can be found in the wiki. The product will not have the logo though and it will be marked as "The tests for this product have been completed.".

List of tested products

The list is structured in various categories. Please note that a single product may appear in more than one category. As an example, application suites including both CTI and Call Center functions are quite popular.
