In this course, we build up a PBX and App platform and use the evolving configuration during the topics. This book shows you how to create such a configuration
Creating the start configuration for topics "DECT" and later
In this course, we build up a PBX and App platform and use the evolving configuration during the topics.
However, if you step in to the course at the DECT topic or later, then you first need to recreate the proper configuration. This book shows how this is done.
Creating the PBX, Gateway and phone configuration
To configure all of your devices except for the App platform, start the step-into-course configuration.
At this point the lesson checker will not be able to see your App Platform (because it does not even exist yet). We will fix this issue later on in the course.
Setting up the Application platform
Now you need to install the Application platform. We've been through that in topic 3 (More PBX details), you simply do an upgrade Install on your IP411LEFT.
You then can run the Install without any conflict. As you might recall, we want to run the Install using some special options during the course (no need to remember those, they are only needed in the course).
So be sure to use the following link, which gives you the proper Install arguments for your invalid member reference '.domain' in 'domain' domain
- call the upgrade Install to setup the application platform
Install parameters
Here are the values you need to enter into the various forms of the Install process (they are the same as shown on the course home page).

Logging in to myApps
Making the App platform known to moodle
In order to allow moodle to inspect the configuration of your App platform, you need to do a final setting on the AP: the SYSCLIENT2 URL.
To connect your AP to moodle's lesson checking facility
- log in to myApps using either john.doe or ckl with password ip411
- start the AP Manager
- click on App Platform/Settings
- go to the General settings
- set Devices app URL 2 to wss://training-apps.training.innovaphone.com/class.net/Trainee-Devices/sysclients
Adding your phones to the domain
Quite good so far, but we're not fully done yet!
When you look at your Devices App, you will see that your phones are somehow flagged. This is because they are not yet joined to your domain (although moodle was nice enough to configure their SYSCLIENT URL so that it points to your Devices instance). This is why their Domain field in the Edit tab is empty.
To fix that
- set the Domain property to invalid member reference '.domain' in 'domain' for all your phones
- also, for each phone device, assign category hq IP Phone
You will see that the little wrench symbol goes away then.
While we are at that: using Devices on an unapproved device is a security risk. This is why Devices will block access to the Admin UI for such devices!
